Ten weeks on the road launching the Jeep Renegade: nine cities, most get ins starting at 2am, and over 2,000 movies uploaded straight to YouTube.

What Did We Do?

Jeep wanted an attraction to launch the new Renegade on a 10 week tour of England, Wales and Scotland, covering most major cities. For it, we built the first dedicated bullet time experiential software system: it captures the visitor’s details, takes the shots, builds the fully aligned video with intro and outro, uploads it to YouTube with the right tags, and emails the visitor a direct link. All on the fly, with nobody editing anything.

The hardware was a bespoke 48 camera rig with 5 computers and 4 custom wiring looms, plus a website portal for the campaign. We provided all equipment and technical operators, and worked inside whatever access windows the venues gave us, which usually meant starting the build at 2am.

The tour launched at Gadget Show Live at the NEC in Birmingham, then travelled to Nottingham, Newcastle, London, Leeds, Cardiff, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Liverpool. Across the 9 locations we created over 2,000 movies, roughly one every two minutes of operation, every one delivered to the visitor by email.
