Recreating the Flash catching Batman's Batarang: a 24 camera rig rebuilt three times in one night, and one cast member we could not get rid of.

What Did We Do?

Rogue Productions asked us to recreate the Justice League moment where Barry Allen catches the Batarang thrown at him by Bruce Wayne, for the film’s London premiere event. The movies were kept dark and underexposed on purpose, to match the look of the film.

The rig, 24 cameras on a 90 degree arc, was set up and stripped down three times during the event to make way for cast filming, VIPs and press junkets. At one point we moved it into Batman’s Flying Fox room: stripped, carried across the building, rebuilt, calibrated and running in an hour and a half.

Ezra Miller was scheduled to spend five or ten minutes with us. He stayed half an hour, loved the rig, and we could not get rid of him.

We created 456 movies across the event, each captured, aligned and exported on the fly by our own software.

Common Premiere Event FAQs

Can the rig move during an event?

Yes. On this job it was torn down and rebuilt three times in one event, the fastest move taking 90 minutes including calibration.

Can the movies match a film’s look?

Yes. These were deliberately graded dark and underexposed to match the film itself.
