Three locations, a 120 camera double deck rig, sets rebuilt over lunch and a 4am call at London Stadium, all for SkyBet's Euros campaign.
Working with SkyBet, Sky Sports, Electric Theatre Collective, The Quarry and Outsider.TV, we shot a multi location bullet time advert for the Euros campaign, for TV and online.
Across three locations we ran 120 cameras in multiple rig configurations, some split across different focal lengths and some double decked, alongside two Blackmagic URSA 12Ks with our own remote trigger, power and data tethering systems.
Days one and two were a huge green screen at Black Island Studios, capturing individual Sky pundits and thrown props for compositing later in post. Next was a top floor natural light studio with no lift, which meant carrying twelve 100 kilo flight cases and piles of truss up by hand from 6am. The set designers built a full living room around the rig, we shot it, broke for a late lunch while they rebuilt the entire set as a bedroom, shot that, wrapped at 8pm, and carried everything back down those stairs.
The kit went straight to London Stadium. Three hours of sleep, back in at 4am, and the rig was ready by 1pm, three hours ahead of schedule, because the sky was turning black. The heavens opened right after the first shots, we covered the rig and waited, and the sun gave us just enough of a window to finish the shoot.
Everything was handed over as graded 5.5K TIFF sequences, colour balanced to match the rest of the campaign footage.
Yes. On this job the set around the rig was completely rebuilt over a lunch break, from a living room into a bedroom.
Yes. Two days of this shoot were green screen captures of pundits and props, delivered as graded TIFF sequences for the VFX team to composite.
