Weeks of Premier League media days for TNT Sports: the Argus cine camera rig criss crossing England, two crews, green screens, SkyPanels, and one very hot greenhouse.

What Did We Do?

Warner Bros. Discovery brought us in to work with the TNT Sports team during the Premier League media days. We spent several weeks criss crossing England’s training grounds, filming the players TNT had selected for their 24/25 season promos.

The Argus cine camera rig did most of the work, with a 24 camera DSLR rig covering the days when two clubs held their media day at opposite ends of the country at the same time. We split into two shoot teams to make the schedule work. We also supplied the ARRI SkyPanels, lighting stands and large green screens from our own hire stock.

Conditions did their best to make it interesting: on the hottest day of the year the cameras were overheating inside a huge greenhouse with no air conditioning, while the crews dodged the riots kicking off in cities every night that week.

Promos from the shoot are being released throughout the season, and we will keep adding to this case study as they land.

Common Argus Rig FAQs

Why use the Argus rig for broadcast promos?

Because it records continuous synchronised cinema quality video, the freeze moment can be chosen in the edit rather than committed to on the shoot day.

Does the Argus rig only do bullet time?

No. The same rig on the same set can also capture photogrammetry, 3D Gaussian Splatting and full 4D volumetric, so still 3D scans never need a second company.

What if two shoots land on the same day?

We split. On this job the Argus rig and a 24 camera DSLR rig ran as two independent crews in different parts of the country.
