Over 1000 times higher quality than anything else in the UK, and 4 times higher than anything else on the planet.
The Worlds Highest Quality Volumetric Capture System!
No Green Screen Needed, No Studio Restrictions And Its Totally Mobile!
With years upon years of research, development and joint collaboration between some of the most incredible minds in the industry, we would like to release our Volumetric Hologram Capture Service!
Being fully mobile and available to be transported World-wide, our Volumetric Rig will capture Photorealistic Volumetric movies. We can then export this in almost any file type you need, or even as a video that you want to add to your movie edit.
What is Volumetric Capture used for?
Movie and TV Production
Capturing any actor, object or environment and allow the directors and DP to choose the path or paths of the camera after it was filmed. This can then be exported as a High Resolution output.
Gaming
We create a model that can be added straight into your game, allowing a character, object, environment, that is actually as it looks.
Story Boarding
Create the film set, we capture it, this enables the directors to put it into 3D software and compose the camera shots from thousands of miles away before even stepping onto the set. Allowing the lighting guys, camera crew and other production staff to know their job exactly before hand.
Body Motion of Humans or Animals
As we capture every move, motion, even little micro movement in the body, this can be used to track and follow for educational, scientific or creative uses.
Marketing and Advertising Campaigns
We can produce TV adverts, add it into an interactive campaign, put the created output into an AR app, there are so many options we just couldnt list them here.
Tutorial / training
There is almost nothing better than this apart from person to person training. You can view from any angle, pause, rewind and zoom in to get a better view of what ever you are wanting to see and learn.
Anything else!
It’s like asking “what can a camera can be used for?”, whatever it is needed for! We are not limited by anything, give us a call, we can help you.
Behind The Scenes
Final result as AR App
“DanceAR” was a project with the incredible Company | E for a joint collaboration between New World Designs, Sunderland City Council, Washington DC (DC Commission on Arts and Humanities) and Company | E
What quality output do we create?
We are 4 x larger than anybody else on the planet, exporting 10 Million Polygons per frame to achieve an ultra smooth photorealistic non game looking export… the highest in the UK until now was 10K and the highest in the world was 2 Million.
What are the maximum frame rate of the cameras?
Our cameras can shoot up to 1500 frames per second and are perfectly GenLocked to keep each frame synchronised, we usually shoot at 60fps due to the massive data rate it creates, but for the right project this can be increased to ultra high speed.
What is the data rate of capture?
Whilst shooting at 60FPS, we create 1.7TB of data per minute. If we lift the frame rate, this will increase hugely.
How long does it take to process the footage?
At 60FPS it takes about 1 day per minute of footage. We can increase this if needed by adding more computers to the render system for the right project.
How many cameras have we got?
We have 150 in stock, but usually use fewer than this to keep the data rate down. But if needed for photorealism, we can make a very tight array of cameras, increasing the quality.
How many Polygons do we create?
We capture a point cloud whilst processing, and then reduce it down to a mesh with is built up of polygons, basically a 2D line shape like a triangle or rectangle. We create 10 million polygons per frame, the more polygons, the smoother and more detailed the surface is. The average current (at time of writing in 2019) Volumetric capture system across the world creates 10,000 polygons per frame, our system creates Ten Million!
Thats a MILLION PERCENT more polygons!
How Long To Set Up?
Depending on the project, we may need a full day to setup, calibrate and test the system, after that we can go live.
Do We Need Green Screen?
We don’t need any green screen at all, the sample above was captured with a tree, plants and people stood around watching. Everything apart from the dancer was cut away leaving just the dancer with no trace of the background, cameras or frame. The dancer is converted into a model, so we are only looking at the skin texture of the model, so we selectively choose what is shown. if we wanted to see the floor the dancer was stood on, we could have exported that as well.
Lighting
We used no lighting at all for the DancerAR App, it was purely under the sun. We were actually expecting the day to be overcast according to the weather forecast. But there wasn’t a cloud in the sky, which is always nice, but it did cause shadows of the frame on the dancer. We all liked the way it looked, so went ahead, but we could have put up a large diffuser to remove those. And of course any lighting added will be captured like in any other film production.
