Footlocker Soloman Advert - 120 Camera 3D Capture
The entire scene is 3D capture, apart from the ultra slowmo Phantom shots
What Did We Do?
We created the full 3D scene four times, then merged the results into one by using parts of each scene to remove unwanted elements from the others. For example, there was a huge crash mat visible in parts of the setup, and the rig was also moved between two completely different locations.
What makes this even more impressive is that the final scene is still spatially correct. We captured it once, then moved the rig 8 metres across and shot it again, effectively combining two separate locations into one large, highly detailed 3D scene. Despite a four-hour gap between captures, plus two pizzas and a load of cheesy chips, it all came together seamlessly.
Common Gaussian Splatting FAQs
Can you scan people?
To scan dogs, robbers running, or other moving subjects, you need a camera rig, because it is the only way to capture all angles at the same moment without movement causing errors.
Can we scan anything
We havent found anything we cant scan yet!
Did we add anything extra to the scene?
Yes, we joined two shots together that were taken hours apart, and also used a plate shot to cut out a large crash mat.
